From the perspective of the filter industry, the roots and soul of the automotive aftermarket field: Dual quality wins a broad future

In today's auto parts aftermarket landscape, although filters hold a crucial position, they have been Mired in an "intra-industry competition" in recent years, with frequent price wars putting pressure on product quality. When filters become the "cannon fodder" of promotions and cost pressure forces enterprises to cut corners, we must be clear that product quality is the fundamental for the survival and the lifeblood of the filter industry.

The price competition within the industry is eroding the bottom line of quality. The price of filters has been continuously declining, and even a vicious competition of "changing suppliers by just 20 cents" has emerged. The reduction of intermediate links in chain alliances is a progress, but some practitioners take price reduction as the core and ignore the inherent production costs. If the necessary inputs in raw materials, processes, quality control and other links are cut, cutting corners will become inevitable - seemingly "no oil leakage during loading", but in fact, it hides potential safety hazards. Industry standards are by no means for show. Those who cross the bottom line will eventually be eliminated by the market that pursues quality.

Under the dual external shocks, quality is the key to breaking the deadlock. On the one hand, the number of new energy vehicles in use exceeds 40 million, and the contraction of the fuel vehicle market has led to a decline in the demand for filter replacement. On the other hand, model transformation compresses profit margins. Some enterprises fall into a vicious circle by "trading price for volume", while those that adhere to quality remain vigorous. Car owners are more concerned about "fewer problems" when maintaining their vehicles. The cost of major engine overhauls makes them willing to pay for reliable filters, which is precisely a market signal oriented towards quality.

The reshuffling triggered by market saturation will eventually sift out those who adhere to quality. At present, there are over 600 brands in the filter market, and most small and medium-sized enterprises are struggling. The essence of this reshuffle is the transformation from "price competition" to "value competition". Those who rely on low prices will be eliminated, while those who focus on quality will gain a larger share. In the next five years, the number of brands may be reduced to 100, forming a virtuous cycle of "high quality - good reputation - large scale - low cost".

The future of the auto parts aftermarket belongs to those that excel in both quality and operation. Optimizing circulation efficiency cannot sacrifice quality. The production end should focus on "better quality at the same price", and the channel end should break away from the "price-only" approach. Only by adhering to the original intention of quality throughout the industry can the filter industry break away from the vicious competition, achieve sustainable development in the transformation of the automotive aftermarket, provide reliable protection for car owners, and also win a broad future for itself.
